Abstract

Elastic differential cross sections for d-He4 scattering have been measured for deuteron laboratory energies between 6 and 14 MeV. Both deuterons and alpha particles were accelerated in the Los Alamos variable-energy cyclotron and focused at the center of the Los Alamos multiplate camera. The charged-reaction products were identified on the basis of range measurements in processed K2 emulsions. The present results are at variance with previous work at 8 MeV and also indicate significant deviations at large angles from earlier experiments at 13.7 MeV. Around 10 MeV, previous results have been substantiated.
