Abstract

The magnetic moment of the second excited state of F19 has been determined by a direct measurement of the Larmor precession frequency after the state has been excited in the reaction F19 (p, pó) F19∗. A value of +3.69±0.04n.m. was obtained where the error mainly arose from statistics. Systematic errors were believed to be small by comparison.
