Elastic Scattering of Deuterons by He4

Abstract

A model of the d+He4 interaction is developed and compared to the data on the ground state of Li6 and the d+He4 elastic scattering data up to 4.5 Mev (deuteron laboratory energy). New phase-shift analyses of the 8- and 10.3-Mev elastic scattering data are made, and quantities relevant to the production or analysis of beams of polarized deuterons are calculated.
