Abstract

A study has been made of the gamma-ray cascade emitted by the 9.16-MeV state to the 6.44-MeV state and from this to the ground state of N14, using the reaction C13(p,γ)N14 at the 1.75 MeV resonance. By means of angular correlation and distribution measurements, using different geometrical arrangements relative to the beam, the 9.16-MeV state was assigned J = 2 and the 6.44-MeV state J = 3.
