Probing nuclear structure with mean transverse momentum in relativistic isobar collisions

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 96Ru(96Ru, X), 96Zr(96Zr, X), E not given; calculated transverse momentum, mean transverse momentum ratio between 96Ru+96 and 96Zr+96Zr collisions, sensitivity of the transverse momentum ratio to nuclear structure properties - neutron skin thickness and deformation. Analyzed possibility to use transverse momentum ratio for the determination of neutron skin thickness, quadrupole and octupole deformation parameters. Simulations are based on iEBE-VISHNU model together with the hadron cascade model - ultrarelativistic quantum molecular dynamics (UrQMD).

Rev. C 92, 011901), and ultrarelativistic quantum molecular dynamics (URQMD v3.4); proposed a method to extract neutron skin using net-charge multiplicities in ultraperipheral (grazing) collisions of participating isobars in relativistic heavy-ion physics, under the assumption of superimposition of nucleon-nucleon interactions in such collisions.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 208Pb(9Li, X), E=32.7 MeV/nucleon, [secondary 9Li beam from 9Be(12C, X), E=53.7 MeV/nucleon, followed by separation and purification of fragments using RIBLL1 at HIRFL-Lanzhou facility]; measured reaction products and outgoing charged particles, angular distributions of charged particles using Si telescope and CsI(Tl) scintillator array. 9Li; deduced resonant states, relative energy spectrum of 6He+t cluster states from the decay of 9Li resonances, differential breakup cross-section, isoscalar monopole transition matrix element M(IS0) and monopole strength B(IS0), energy-weighted sum rule (EWSR) for the transferred angular momentum. DWBA and CDCC analysis of angular distributions, and GCM calculations for the cluster states in 9Li. Relevance to differences between the triton and α clusters, and impact of these differences on the formation of nuclei containing triton clusters.

ATOMIC MASSES 52Fe; deduced mass excess from Q value of proton decay of 3174.1 keV, 19/2- isomer in 53Co determined from measured proton energy. Comparison with previous experimental results.
