New K isomers in 248Cf

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 249Cf(18O, 19O)248Cf, E=140.4 MeV; measured reaction products, Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, particleγ-coin. 248Cf; deduced levels, J, π, transitions from isomeric states, T1/2 for 2 low-ling transitions, B(E1). Discussed possible configuration of newly observed isomeric state at 950 keV to be two-quasineutron K=8- and the two-quasiproton K=5-. Comparison to other experimental data. Radioactive target. Si-detectors array combined with γ-ray detector array consisted of 4 Ge detectors and 4 4x5 inch LaBr3 scintillators at Tokai Tandem accelerator facility of the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA).

RADIOACTIVITY 266,267Bh(α)[from 248Cm(23Na, 5n), (23Na, 4n), E=125.9, 130.6, 135.3 MeV]; 262Db(α), (SF)[from 266Bh α decay]; 263Db(EC), (α), (SF)[from 267Bh α decay]; 263Rf(SF)[from 263Db EC decay]; 258Lr(α), (EC)[from 262Db α decay]; 259Lr(α), (SF)[from 263Db α decay]; 258No(SF)[from 258Lr(EC); measured Eα, αα-, ααα- and α(SF)-correlations for 32 observed events using rotating wheel apparatus MANON and gas-jet transport system coupled to gas-filled recoil ion separator GARIS at RIKEN; deduced decay times, half-lives, decay branching ratios, production cross sections for 266Bh and 267Bh. Comparison with previous experimental results for half-lives and branching ratios for decay modes.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 248Cm(23Na, 5n), (23Na, 4n), E=125.9, 130.6, 135.3 MeV; measured reaction products, σ(E) at RIKEN. Comparison with HIVAP calculations, and with previous experimental results.

Search for α decay of 104Te with a novel recoil-decay scintillation detector

RADIOACTIVITY 108,109Xe, 104,105Te(α)[from 54Fe(58Ni, X), E=250 MeV from the tandem accelerator of the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA), followed by separation of evaporation residues using Recoil Mass Separator (RMS)]; measured Eα, Iα, αα-correlations using an inorganic scintillator YAP:Ce for implanted nuclei, and a multiwire proportional chamber (MWPC) for α particles; deduced αα-correlations for the 109Xe to 105Te to 101Sn α-decay chain, and no conclusive trace observed for the 108Xe to 104Te to 100Sn α-decay chain, half-life of 108Xe decay, upper limit of 4 ns for the half-life of 104Te; estimated cross section for the production of 108Xe, an order of magnitude lower than the expectation based on earlier cross section measurements and the HIVAP fusion-evaporation code. 109I(p), 108,109Te(α); measured proton and α spectra, half-life of 109I decay. Comparison with data for 108Xe to 104Te to 100Sn α-decay chain reported by 2018Au04.
