Test of nuclear decay rate variation due to an antineutrino flux

RADIOACTIVITY 54Mn(EC); 137Cs(β-); measured Eγ, Iγ; deduced decay rate parameter in the presence of strong antineutrino flux and without the antineutrino flux, sensitivity to antineutrinos, upper limit of the σ sensitivity. Observed no measurable decay rate parameter variation due to an antineutrino flux. Systematics of the decay rate parameter variation measurements for 3H, 32Si, 36Cl, 54Mn, 137Cs, 152Eu, 154Eu, 155Eu, 226Rn. HFIR at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory was used as an antineutrino source.

Investigation of bound state β- decay half-lives of bare atoms

RADIOACTIVITY 163Dy, 193Ir, 194Au, 202,205Tl, 215At, 222Rn, 243Am, 246Bk(β-); calculated T1/2 of fully ionized (bare) atoms and compared with experimental T1/2 of neutral atoms for allowed, nonunique first-forbidden or unique first-forbidden transitions using formulas of the Takahashi-Yokoi model; estimated logft values. Performed a survey of 3344 nuclei in the A=2-270 mass range to search for atoms with possible β- channels with a condition of complete ionization; deduced a small fraction of nuclei throughout the whole chart of nuclides where bound-state β- decay channel is forbidden in their neutral atoms but opens in their bare ionic state.
