Gamma-Ray Spectroscopy with High-Spin Isomer Beams

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 208Pb(174Hf, 174Hf'), E ≈ 5.4 MeV/nucleon; measured Eγ, Iγ following projectile isomer Coulomb excitation. 174Hf deduced transition, B(λ). High-K isomer beam from 9Be(170Er, 5n) reaction. Other aspects of high-spin isomer beams discussed.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 166Er(36Ar, 5n), E=186, 200 MeV; 169Tm(36Ar, 5n), E=186 MeV; measured Eα, Iα; deduced evidence for 197,197mRn, 200Fr. Evaporation residues obtained from gas-filled recoil separator, implanted onto position sensitive solid state detector.
