Comparison with rigid triaxial rotor plus particle model (RTRPM) calculations. RoSphere array comprised of 8 HPGe and 11 LaBr3:Ce detectors at IFIN-HH (Romania).

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 195Pt(n, γ), E=9-1000 eV; measured E(n) by time of flight, Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, multi-step γ-ray cascades (MSCs) using the segmented γ-ray Detector for Advanced Neutron Capture (DANCE) of 160 BaF2 crystals at the Los Alamos Neutron Science Center (LANSC). 196Pt; deduced nuclear level density (NLD) and photon strength functions (PSFs); confirmed E1 PSF resonance at ≈5.6 MeV. Comparison of experimental MSC spectra with previous experimental data from Oslo and others, and with constant-temperature (CT) and back-shifted Fermi-gas (BSFG) model calculations.

Proposed a simple empirical approach to correlate neutron capture cross sections and nuclear masses. Relevance to astrophysical s- and r-processes, modeling of nuclear reactor designs, and nuclear forensics applications.
