RADIOACTIVITY 141Ba(β-)[from β- decay of 141Cs beam produced as fission fragment in 252Cf(SF) at the CARIBU-ANL facility]; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, γγ(θ) using the GAMMASPHERE array with 99 Compton-suppressed HPGe detectors. 141La; deduced levels, J, π, multipolarities, multipole mixing ratios, β feedings, logft. Comparison with previous experimental results, including total absorption gamma-spectra (TAGS) data, and with evaluated data in the ENSDF database. Relevance to decay heat in reactors, and reactor antineutrino spectrum. Decay-scheme figure is given in the Supplemental material of the paper.

Independent measurement of the Hoyle state β feeding from 12B using Gammasphere

RADIOACTIVITY 12B(β-)[from 2H(11B, p), E=40 MeV from ATLAS-ANL facility]; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, γγ(θ) for the Hoyle state using Gammasphere array. 12C; deduced first excited 2+ and 0+ levels, β branching ratio to the Hoyle state in 12C, logft, indication of higher clustering for the Hoyle state as compared to previous results. Comparison with theoretical calculations using antisymmetrized molecular dynamics (AMD), and with previous experimental results.
