Measurement of the Cross Section for the Neutron-Induced Fission of 238U Nuclei in the Energy Range of 0.3-500 MeV

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 235,238U(n, F), E=0.3-500 MeV; measured reaction products, TOF; deduced anisotropy of the angular distribution of fission fragments, ratio of the fission σ, fission σ and uncertainties. Comparison with ENDF/B-VIII.0 and EXFOR libraries. The time-of-flight spectrometer of the GNEIS neutron complex at the Petersburg Nuclear Physics Institute, National Research Center Kurchatov Institute based on the SC-1000 synchrocyclotron with a 1-GeV proton beam.

Fission events registered using the position-sensitive low pressure multiwire proportional counters (MWPCs) at the neutron complex GNEIS (NRC "Kurchatov institute"-PNPI, Gatchina).
