s-wave resonances for the 18F(p, α)15O reaction in novae

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 18F(p, α)15O;19F(3He, t)19Ne, E=140 MeV/nucleon; measured Et, It(θ); deduced peaks of discrete excited states in 19Ne; deduced 19F, 19Ne levels, J, π, deduced ΔL=0 state at 6.13 MeV which could significantly affect 18F(p, α) astrophysical S-factor, suggested mirror pairs of states. Levels compared with published data. 18F(p, α), E(cm)=0-1 MeV; calculated astrophysical S-factor with different interference signs between L=0 states with possibility of changing temperatures (50-350 MK); deduced resonance parameters (energy, (α- and p-width, ANC)). S-factor compared with other calculations.

Reaction Cross Sections for 13-15B and One-neutron Halo in 14B

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H, 9Be, 12C, 27Al(13B, x), (14B, x), (15B, x), E=50-130 MeV/nucleon; measured reaction products; deduced reaction σ; calculated σ using Glauber-type approach; deduced nuclear matter density distribution, matter and charge radii for 13,15B and one-neutron halo 14B. Cross sections compared also with asymptotical σ at relativistic energy; nuclear radii with both calculations and data for B isotopes published in literature.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 9Be, 12C, 27Al(8Li, X), E=30-110 MeV, [8Li secondary beam produced in 9Be(13C, X), E=130 MeV/nucleon primary reaction]; measured reaction products, reaction σ(E) at HIMAC synchrotron and fragment-separator facility of NIRS, Japan; deduced density distributions of 8B and 8Li using modified Glauber model, halo structure of 8B. 7Li(n, γ)8Li, E=0.01 eV-1 MeV; 7Be(p, γ)8B, E=0-0.5 MeV; calculated capture σ(E) for (n, γ) and S(E) factor for (p, γ) reactions using density distributions determined in present work, comparison with experimental data.

Modified Glauber model analysis of experimental data. Comparison with previous experimental results and with calculations based on harmonic oscillator (HO)+Yukawa and HO+single-particle model (SPM) functions.

Gamow-Teller transition strengths from 56Fe extracted from the 56Fe (t, 3He) reaction

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 56Fe(t, 3He), E=115 MeV/nucleon, [secondary triton beam from 9Be(16O, X), E=150 MeV/nucleon primary reaction]; measured 3He spectra, differential σ(θ) as function of excitation energy using S800 magnetic spectrograph at NSCL-MSU facility; deduced L-transfer, Gamow-Teller (GT) strength distribution, electron capture rates in 56Fe at astrophysical temperatures T9=2-10. DWBA analysis. Comparison with data from 56Fe(p, n), and with shell-model calculations in the pf-shell model space using the KB3G and GXPF1a interactions, and with calculations in the quasi-particle random-phase approximation (QRPA).

Comparison with theoretical deformation parameter β2 versus mass plot using double-folding model (DFM) calculation combined with antisymmetrized molecular dynamics (AMD) calculation. 37Mg; deduced deformed halo effect from observed enhanced cross section, comparison with DFM calculation based on the deformed Woods-Saxon (DWS) model; collapse of N=28 magic shell for neutrons.
