NUCLEAR REACTIONS 198Pt(α, 6n)196Hg, E=67 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, γγ(θ)(ADO), γγ-linear polarization using the AFRODITE array at iThemba labs. 196Hg; deduced levels, J, π, multipolarities, bands, configurations, alignments, routhians, B(M1)/B(E2) ratios; calculated quasiparticle Routhians for neutrons and protons and alignments using cranked shell model. Comparison with previous experimental results.
