Study of Inelastic A(p, p')X Reaction with Nuclei at 1 GeV

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 28Si, 56Fe(p, p'), E=1 GeV; measured scattered protons Ep, Ip(θ=200) using magnetic spectrometer with MultiWire Proportional Chamber based polarimeter and a C analyzer; deduced dσ(θ, K) polarization vs secondary proton momentum; compared with earlier paper of the same group on 12C and 40K; deduced momentum intervals where σ ratios do not depend on scattered proton momentum; calculated proton polarization using DWBA with allowance for relativistic distortion of the nucleon spinor in nuclear matter; deduced σ(θ=210)ratios ϵta(σ(28Si)/σ(12C)), ϵta(σ(40Ca)/σ(2C)) and ϵta(σ(56Fe)/σi(12C)).
