First observation of ⁵⁹Ge

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ⁹Be(⁷⁸Kr, X)⁵⁹Ge/⁶⁰Ge/⁶¹Ge/⁶²Ge, E=150 MeV/nucleon; measured production cross sections using A1900 separator and Optical Time Projection Chamber (OTPC) at NSCL-MSU facility; deduced new ⁵⁹Ge isotope. Comparison with EPAX3 theoretical calculations. Relevance to 2p radioactivity.
