Population and decay of a Kπ = 8- two-quasineutron isomer in 244Pu

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 244Pu(208Pb, 208Pb'), E=1430 MeV; 244Pu(47Ti, 47TI'), E=305 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, M1/E2 branching ratios, prompt and off-beam γ rays, half-life of a 2-qp 8- isomer using Gammasphere array at ATLAS-ANL. 244Pu; deduced high-spin levels, J, π, rotational bands, multipolarity, configurations, kinematic and dynamic moments of inertia, (gk-gR)/Q0, reduced hindrance factors for transitions from the isomer. Comparison with multi-qp calculations using Woods-Saxon potential and Lipkin-Nogami pairing. Systematics of moment of inertia plots and 8- isomers for 244Pu, 250Fm and 252No.

Systematics of 7/2- and positive-parity states in A=57-71 Cu isotopes, and 2+ and 5- states in A=56-70 Ni isotopes. Systematics of ground-state bands in 60,66,68,70Zn and compared with those of f7/2- proton bands in 59,65,67,69Cu. Comparison with shell model calculations using JUN45 and jj44b interactions.
