The decay of the 21.47-MeV stretched resonance in 13C: A precise probe of the open nuclear quantum system description

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 13C(p, p'), E=135 MeV; measured reaction products, Eγ, Iγ; deduced γ-ray energies and relative intensities, partial decay scheme , branching ratios, resonances. Comparison with predictions from the Gamow Shell Model (GSM), which was used to describe the stretched resonance in terms of its energy, width, electromagnetic transition strengths and decay pattern. The Cyclotron Centre Bronowice (CCB) at IFJ PAN in Krakow.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 58Ni(58Ni, 2pα)110Te, E=250 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, half-lives of levels by recoil distance Doppler-shift (RDDS) method using a plunger device and differential decay curve method (DDCM), GALILEO Ge-detector array for γ detection and EUCLIDES Si-array for particle detection and reaction channel selection at the XTU-Tandem accelerator facility of National Legnaro Laboratories. 110Te; deduced levels, J, π, B(E2); calculated collective wave functions in (β2, β3) plane for the two lowest negative parity states. Comparison with theoretical calculations using tilted axis cranking approach and the symmetry configuration mixing method with the Gogny D1S interaction. Discussed systematics of configurations, and octupole admixtures for the known bands in 109Te, 110Te and 111I.

Evidence for 15O + α resonance structures in 19Ne via direct measurement

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 4He(15O, α), E=28.5 MeV, [secondary 15O beam from 1H(15N, 15O), E=80 MeV primary reaction at LNL-XTU, Legnaro tandem Van de Graaff accelerator; measured Eα, Iα using a double-sided silicon strip detector (DSSSD), absolute differential cross sections. 19Ne; deduced levels, resonances, J, π, Γα, total Γ, partial decay branches, reduced α-widths, 15O+α rotational band, cluster structure using R-matrix analysis with AZURE2 code. Comparison with previous experimental results, and with potential model calculation using the well-known 16O+α cluster band configurations. Relevance to α branching ratio in the astrophysical reaction rate for high-spin near-threshold resonances.

Monte Carlo simulations for the elastic scattering process and inelastic excitation. Optical-model, continuum-discretized-coupled-channel (CDCC) calculations using the code FRESCO, and DWBA calculations. Discussed role of breakup, 3He-stripping, 1n-stripping, and 1n-pickup processes.

Reaction dynamics for the system 17F+58Ni at near-barrier energies

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 58Ni(17F, X), [17F secondary beam from 1H(17O, 17F), E=100 MeV primary reaction], E=54.1, 58.5 MeV; measured charged-particle spectra, quasi-elastic differential σ(θ). Monte-Carlo simulations. Analysis within the framework of the optical model using FRESCO code to deduce the reaction cross section and to investigate the role played by inelastic excitations to excited states in 17F and 58Ni, proton-stripping channel to levels in 59Cu, and the breakup process of 17F to 16O+p.
