Release Notes

The version 6.13 of the ENDF Utility Codes supercedes all previous releases. It corrects all bugs reported to NNDC as of May 1, 2002. All codes have been tested on OpenVMS, Linux, and Windows operating systems. They all have interactive interfaces for supplying required code input. Five codes, CHECKR, FIZCON, PSYCHE, STANEF, and INTER have both command line and graphical interfaces for Linux and Windows. Only a command line version exists for the OpenVMS version of these codes. The batch mode version (ANS) fully meet FORTRAN 95 standards. Source code for the other versions of each code can be derived from the ANS version by using the SETMDC code. The remaining four programs, GETMAT, LISTEF, PLOTEF and SETMDC have only batch or command line versions.

The codes, CHECKR, FIZCON, PSYCHE, STANEF and INTER have been revised to take advantage of the new features of FORTRAN 95. In the case of the other four codes, the FORTRAN 95 standard has been met by removing discontinued or obsolete features of FORTRAN 77.

There is one directory for each ENDF Utility code. Within each directory is a ZIP file with a three material test case and output with the following exceptions. There are no test cases for GETMAT and SETMDC and there is only a two material test case for PLOTEF. There is a directory for each operating system/interface version of the utility code as follows:
ANS-FORTRAN 95 compliant batch mode interface.
Source code only.
VMS-OpenVms command line interface.
Source and executable code.
WIN-Windows 95, 98 and 2000 command line interface.
Source and executable code.
UNX-Unix and Linux command line interface.
Source and executable code.
DVF-Windows graphical interface using Digital Visual Fortran
Self-extracting ZIP to C:\Code Files\ENDF\'code_name'
with executable, help file and help file table of contents.
LWI-Unix graphical interface using the Lahey FORTRAN 95 compiler with Winteracter.
Executable and help file (.htm).

No source file is included for the versions with graphical interfaces since the code is highly dependent on the codeing environment. These source codes are available on request.
