RADIOACTIVITY 248Cm(SF); measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin with γ rays from complementary fragments, γγ(θ) using Eurogam2 array; deduced mass correlations. 87Se; deduced levels, J, π, multipolarity, configuration, coexistence of collective and single-particle excitations. Comparison with shell model calculations, and with structure of N=53 neighbors. 86,88Se, 146,148Ce, 156,158,160Sm; observed γ rays.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 85Ge, 87Se, 89Kr, 91Sr, 93Zr, 95Mo, 97Ru; calculated levels, J, π, yrast states of N=53 isotones, B(E2), B(M1); discussed j-1 anomaly. Large-scale shell model calculations.
