Evidence for rigid triaxial deformation at low energy in ⁷⁶Ge

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ²³⁸U(⁷⁶Ge, ⁷⁶Ge'), E=530 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, γγ(θ) using Gammasphere array at ATLAS facility in ANL. ⁷⁶Ge; deduced high-spin levels, bands, multipolarity, mixing ratios, J, π, B(E2), staggering. Comparison with collective- and shell-model calculations. Evidence of rigid triaxial deformation in the low-lying states of ⁷⁶Ge. Systematics of staggering parameter for γ bands in ^74,76,78Se, ⁷⁶Ge, ^76,78,80Kr nuclei.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ⁷⁶Ge(n, n'), E<4.9 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γ(θ), σ(E), level half-lives by DSAM for different chemical compositions of the target material at Kentucky Van de Graaff Accelerator Laboratory ⁷⁶Ge; deduced levels, J, π, γ-branching ratios. Relevance to neutrinoless double-β decay search of ⁷⁶Ge.
