β-decay study of the 66Mn - 66Fe - 66Co - 66Ni decay chain
RADIOACTIVITY 66Mn(β-), (β-n)[from U(p, F), Mn beam purified by laser resonance ionization and mass separation]; 66Fe(β-)[from 66Mn β- decay]; 66Co(β-)[from 66Fe β- decay]; measured Eβ, Iβ, Eγ, Iγ, half-lives of β-decaying 66Mn, 66Fe, 66Co, γγ- and βγγ-coin, half-lives of isomers in 65Fe, 66Co by γ(t) using plastic scintillators for β detection and MiniBall cluster Ge detectors for γ detection at ISOLDE-CERN. 65,66Fe, 66Co, 66Ni; deduced levels, isomers, J, π, β feedings, logft, B(GT) values, %β-n value for the decay of 66Mn. Comparison with Monte Carlo shell model calculations.
NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 66Mn, 66Fe, 66Co, 66Ni; calculated average proton and neutron occupation numbers for selected low-lying positive-parity states, potential energy surface (PES) in (Q0, Q2) plane, levels, J, π, B(M1), B(E2) using Monte Carlo Shell model with the A3DA interactions. Comparison with experimental data.
