First spectroscopy of ⁶⁶Se and ⁶⁵As: Investigating shape coexistence beyond the N = Z line

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ⁹Be(⁷⁸Kr, X)⁶⁸Se/⁶⁷As, E=150 MeV/nucleon;⁹Be(⁶⁸Se, 2n), E=68 MeV/nucleon; ⁹Be(⁶⁷As, 2n), E not given; measured reaction products, Eγ, Iγ. ⁶⁶Se, ⁶⁵As; deduced energy levels, J, π, shape coexistence. Comparison with mean-field-based predictions within a collective Hamiltonian formalism using the Gogny D1S effective interaction and to state-of-the-art shell-model calculations restricted to the pf_5/2 g_9/2 valence space.
