First identification of 58Zn β-delayed proton emission

RADIOACTIVITY 57,58Zn(β+), (β+p)[from 9Be(78Kr, X), followed by separation of fragments using A1900 separator]; measured reaction products, Ep, Ip, β-delayed proton branching ratio, half-life of 57Zn decay using the Warsaw Optical Time Projection Chamber (OTPC) with energy loss and time-of-flight method for particle identification at the NSCL-MSU facility. 58Cu; deduced levels, J, π, β+p branching ratios, B(GT) for 1+ states. Comparison with experimental B(GT) values from 58Ni(3He, t)58Cu reaction, and with QRPA calculations.
