Precision lifetime measurements of the first 2⁺ and 4⁺ states in ⁵⁶Cr at the N = 32 subshell closure

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ⁴⁸Ca(¹¹B, 2np), E=32 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, half-lives by recoil-distance Doppler-shift method using Cologne plunger device, and EUROBALL cluster array. ⁵⁶Cr; levels, J, π, B(E2). Comparison with Shell Model calculations. Systematics of first 2+ and B(E2) values in N=20-36 even-even Ca, Ti and Cr nuclei.
