Two-proton radioactivity studies with 45Fe and 48Ni

NUCLEAR REACTIONS Ni(58Ni, X), E=74.5 MeV/nucleon; measured fragments isotopic yields; deduced evidence for 48Ni, 45Fe.

RADIOACTIVITY 45Fe(2p) [from Ni(58Ni, X)]; measured Ep, T1/2, branching ratio. 48Ni; measured decay energy, T1/2; deduced probable two-proton decay. Comparisons with model predictions.

Proton spectroscopy of 48Ni, 46Fe, and 44Cr

RADIOACTIVITY 48Ni(2p); 44Cr, 46Fe(β+p); 46Fe(β+2p); [44Cr, 46Fe, 48Ni activities from Ni(58Ni, X), E=160 MeV/nucleon]; measured Ep, Ip, half-lives of ground states of 44Cr, 46Fe, 48Ni, proton branching ratios using an optical time projection chamber (OPTC).
