Decay of quadrupole-octupole 1^- states in ⁴⁰Ca and ¹⁴⁰Ce

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ⁴⁰Ca, ¹⁴⁰Ce(polarized γ, γ'), E=3.6, 5.9 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, polarization asymmetry and analyzing powers using high intensity γ-ray Source (HIγS) facility at (TUNL); deduced levels, J, π, B(E1), B(E2). Comparisons with energy density functional (EDF) and quasiparticle-phonon model (QPM) calculations. B(E1) and B(E2) systematics for N=82 isotones of ¹³⁸Ba, ¹⁴⁰Ce, ¹⁴²Nd, ¹⁴⁴Sm.
