Structure of 36Ca under the Coulomb Magnifying Glass

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(37Ca, d), (38Ca, t)36Ca, E≈50 MeV/nucleon, [37,38Ca secondary beams incident on CRYPTA hydrogen target from 9Be(40Ca, X), E=95 MeV/nucleon primary reaction, followed by separation of fragments using LISE3 spectrometer at GANIL facility]; measured outgoing 36Ca ions, E(d), I(d), E(t), I(t), (36Ca)(37Ca)-coin, (36Ca)(38Ca)-coin, (36Ca)d-coin, (36Ca)t-coin, (36Ca)p-coin, (36Ca)2p-coin, using zero-degree detection (ZDD) system for 36Ca, multiwire detectors CATS array for 37Ca, six MUST2 telescopes with double-sided Silicon strip detector (DSSSD) and 16 CsI crystals for deuterons, tritons and protons. 36Ca; deduced levels, proton resonances, J, π, 0+ as the first excited state, L-transfers, spectroscopic factors, configurations and their amplitudes, mirror energy differences (MEDs) of levels in 36Ca and 36S. DWBA analysis. Comparison with shell-model calculations with configuration interaction (SM CI) using the sd-pf valence space, and with previous experimental results. 34Ar, 35K; deduced levels from the 2p decay of 7.84-MeV level in 36Ca.
