Resonance states in 27P using Coulomb dissociation and their effect on the stellar reaction 26Si(p, γ) 27P

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 208Pb(27P, p26Si), E=54.2 MeV/nucleon, [secondary 27P beam from 9Be(36Ar, X), E=115 MeV primary reaction]; measured particle spectra, (26Si)p-coin, cross section, Coulomb dissociation. 27P; deduced levels, resonances, J, π, multipolarity, E2 resonance strengths. Comparison with shell model calculations, and with level structure of 27Mg. 26Si(p, γ)27P; deduced reaction rates of astrophysical interest.
