Determining the strength of undetectable particle-hole configurations by complete spectroscopy of negative parity states in ²⁰⁸Pb

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ²⁰⁸Pb(p, p'), E near IAR in ²⁰⁹Bi at 14.8-18.1 MeV; ²⁰⁷Pb(d, p), E=22.0 MeV; measured Ep, Ip, σ(E_res, θ), excitation functions using Q3D magnetic spectrometer at MLL-Garching facility. ²⁰⁸Pb; deduced levels, J, π, particle-hole configurations, configuration strengths, configuration mixing between natural and unnatural parity states. DWBA analysis. Comparison with shell-model calculations for negative-parity states, and with evaluated data in NDS-2007 or ENSDF database.
