Magnetic response of the halo nucleus 19C studied via lifetime measurement
NUCLEAR REACTIONS 9Be, Ta(20N, 19C), E=74 MeV/nucleon, [secondary 20N beam from 9Be(22Ne, X), E=120 MeV/nucleon primary reaction]; measured reaction products using A1900 separator, Eγ, Iγ, (particle)γ-, γγ-coin, half-life of the first excited state from line-shape and recoil-distance methods using GRETINA array at NSCL-MSU facility. 19C; deduced levels, J, π, B(M1), configuration. One-neutron halo nucleus populated in one-proton knockout reaction. Comparison with shell-model calculations using several different interactions.
