Two-quasiparticle K-isomers and pairing strengths in the neutron-rich isotopes ¹⁷⁴Er and ¹⁷²Er

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹⁷⁶Yb(¹³⁶Xe, X)¹⁷⁴Er/¹⁷²Er, E=6.0 MeV/nucleon; measured prompt and delayed Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin. ^172,174Er deduced high-spin levels, J, π, isomeric states, configurations. Gammasphere array, level systematics in neighboring isotones discussed.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE ^172,174Er, ¹⁷⁴Yb, ¹⁷⁶Hf, ¹⁷⁸W, ¹⁸⁰Os; calculated high-spin isomers energies; deduced pairing strength. Configuration-constrained potential-energy-surface calculations.
