β-decay scheme of 140Te to 140I: Suppression of Gamow-Teller transitions between the neutron h9/2 and proton h11/2 partner orbitals

RADIOACTIVITY 140Te(β-), (β-n)[from 9Be(238U, F), E=345 MeV/nucleon using BigRIPS separator at RIBF-RIKEN]; measured Eγ, Iγ, βγ-, γγ-coin, half-life of 140Te decay using EUROBALL-RIKEN Cluster Array (EURICA) for γ rays and WAS3ABi array for β and ion detection. 140I; deduced levels, J, π, logft, multipolarities, configurations. Comparison with shell model and Nilsson model calculations. Systematic of Gamow-Teller strengths of 1+ states in 136,140,142I, 142,146Cs, 142,144,146,148La, 146Pr. 139I; observed γ rays.
