Enhanced B(E3) strength observed in ¹³⁷La

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹³⁰Te(¹¹B, 4n)¹³⁷La, E=40 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, level half-life by γγ(t) using an array of 11 Compton-suppressed HPGe clover and 14 LaBr₃(Ce) detectors at the Pelletron Linac Facility of TIFR-Mumbai. ¹³⁷La; deduced levels, J, π, half-life of 1005, 11/2- level, B(E3), sudden increase of B(E3) strength at N=80. Comparison with random-phase approximation (RPA) calculations. Systematics of B(E3) strengths in ^129,133La and ^{132,134,136,138}Ba.
