Exploring the role of high-j configurations in collective observables through the Coulomb excitation of 106Cd

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 208Pb(106Cd, 106Cd'), E=4.03, 4.36 MeV/nucleon; 48Ti(106Cd, 106Cd'), E=3 MeV/nucleon; measured scattered 106Cd and recoil 208Pb, Eγ, Iγ, (particle)γ-coin, angular distributions, γ-ray yields using the JANUS array of two annular Si detectors and SeGA array of sixteen 32-fold segmented HPGe detectors at NSCL-MSU Re-accelerator facility. 106Cd; deduced levels, J, π, E2, M1 and E3 transition matrix elements, B(E2), level half-lives, spectroscopic quadrupole moments, ground-state rotational invariants and quadrupole moments, analysis using GOSIA and GOSIA2 least-squares fitting codes. Comparison with results of previous measurements and with shell-model calculations.
