Two-neutron knockout as a probe of the composition of states in 22Mg, 23Al, and 24Si

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 9Be(24Mg, 22Mg), E=95 MeV/nucleon; 9Be(25Al, 23Al), E=102 MeV/nucleon; 9Be(26Si, 24Si), E=109 MeV/nucleon, [secondary beams of 24Mg, 25Al and 26Si from 9Be(36Ar, X), E=150 MeV/nucleon primary reaction, followed by separation of fragments using A1900 fragment separator at NSCL-MSU facility]; measured reaction products, Eγ, Iγ, parallel momentum distributions using S800 spectrograph for particles and 192-element caesium-iodide scintillator array CAESAR for γ detection. 22Mg, 23Al, 24Si; deduced levels, J, π. Comparison with eikonal reaction theory and shell model calculations. Relevance to 23Al(p, γ)24Si astrophysical reaction rates.
