Search for α decay of naturally occurring Hf-nuclides using a Cs₂HfCl₆ scintillator

RADIOACTIVITY ^{174,176,177,178,179}Hf(α); measured Eα, Iα, αγ-coin using a Cs₂HfCl₆ scintillator and an HPGe detector at the Gran Sasso National Laboratory of the INFN, Italy; deduced half-life of ¹⁷⁴Hf α decay to the ground state of ¹⁷⁰Yb, and lower limits of half-lives for α decays to the ground states and the first excited states for other Hf nuclei. Comparison with previously measured half-lives, and with theoretical values.
