Strong one-neutron emission from two-neutron unbound states in β decays of the r-process nuclei ^{86, 87}Ga

RADIOACTIVITY ^84,85,86,87Ga(β^-), (β^-n), (β^-2n)[from ⁹Be(²³⁸U, F), E=345 MeV/nucleon, followed by separation and identification of fragments using the BigRIPS in-flight separator at RIBF-RIKEN facility]; measured secondary ions implanted into active stoppers made of double-sided silicon-strip detectors (DSSSDs), neutrons by BRIKEN array of ³He counters, WAS3ABi for β and ion detection, and γ rays by two clover-type HPGe detectors, (ions)βn-coin, half-lives of decays of ^84,85,86,87Ga; deduced decay curves, %β^-n (P_1n) and %β^-2n (P_2n). Comparison with shell-model and QRPA calculations. Relevance to r-process modeling.
