One-proton and one-neutron knockout reactions from N = Z = 28 ⁵⁶Ni to the A = 55 mirror pair ⁵⁵Co and ⁵⁵Ni

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ⁹Be(⁵⁶Ni, ⁵⁵Co), (⁵⁶Ni, ⁵⁵Ni), E=85.9 MeV/nucleon, [secondary ⁵⁶Ni beam from ⁹Be(⁵⁸Ni, X), E=160 MeV/nucleon primary reaction, followed by separation using A1900 fragment separator]; measured Eγ, Iγ, partial σ, and parallel momentum distributions using SeGA array for γ detection, and S800 magnetic spectrograph for knockout residues at the NSCL-MSU facility. ⁵⁵Co, ⁵⁵Ni; deduced levels, J, π, mirror energy differences (MEDs) between ⁵⁵Co and ⁵⁵Ni, configurations. Comparison with large scale shell model calculations.
