66.7-keV γ-line intensity of 171Tm determined via neutron activation

RADIOACTIVITY 171Er(β-)[from 170Er(n, γ), E=thermal]; 171Tm(β-)[from 171Er β- decay]; measured Eγ, Iγ, E(x rays), I(x rays), precise intensity of the 66.7-keV γ ray from the decay of 171Tm; deduced number of 171Er and 171Tm atoms produced in reactor irradiation. Relevance to 171Tm neutron capture cross section, and s process in thermally pulsing asymptotic giant branch stars.
