High-precision half-life measurement of the β⁺ decay of ²¹Na

RADIOACTIVITY ²¹Na(β⁺)[from ¹H(²²Ne, ²¹Na), E=25 MeV/nucleon, followed by analysis of reaction products by the momentum achromat recoil spectrometer (MARS) at Texas A and M cyclotron facility]; measured positrons and half-life of the decay of ²¹Na using 4π continuous gas-flow proportional counter; deduced magnitude of the up-down element of the Cabbibo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix V_ud. Comparison with previous experimental values, and deduced averaged half-life and Ft value.
