Probing the N = 14 subshell closure: g factor of the ₂₆Mg(2⁺₁) state

NUCLEAR REACTIONS Gd(²⁴Mg, ²⁴Mg'), (²⁶Mg, ²⁶Mg'), E=120 MeV; measured reaction products, Eγ, Iγ. ^24,26Mg; deduced the first-excited state g-factors using the high-velocity transient-field technique. Comparison with theoretical calculations.
