First limit on neutrinoless quadruple β decay of ¹⁵⁰Nd to the 0⁺₁ state of ¹⁵⁰Gd

RADIOACTIVITY ¹⁵⁰Nd(4β^-); measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin using HPGe detectors for γ detection and plastic scintillators operated in anti-coincidence mode as active veto detectors to search for 0ν4β^- decay to the first excited 0+ state in ¹⁵⁰Gd at the Kimballton Underground Research Facility (KURF); deduced lower limit for half-life for the 0ν4β^- decay mode of ¹⁵⁰Nd. No events assigned to this decay mode.
