Lifetime measurements in ¹⁰²Pd: Searching for empirical proof of the E(5) critical-point symmetry in nuclear structure

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ⁹²Zr(¹³C, 3n), E=48 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, level half-lives by recoil distance Doppler-shift (RDDS) technique and analysis by differential decay curve method (DDCM). GASP array at XTU Tandem Van de Graaff accelerator at Legnaro. ¹⁰²Pd; deduced levels, J, π, B(E2), configurations; calculated contours of the energy functional in (β, γ) plane. Comparison of B(E2) values with IBA model and predictions of E(5) critical-point symmetry.
