Population and decay of a K^π = 8^- two-quasineutron isomer in ²⁴⁴Pu

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ²⁴⁴Pu(²⁰⁸Pb, ²⁰⁸Pb'), E=1430 MeV; ²⁴⁴Pu(⁴⁷Ti, ⁴⁷TI'), E=305 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, M1/E2 branching ratios, prompt and off-beam γ rays, half-life of a 2-qp 8- isomer using Gammasphere array at ATLAS-ANL. ²⁴⁴Pu; deduced high-spin levels, J, π, rotational bands, multipolarity, configurations, kinematic and dynamic moments of inertia, (g_k-g_R)/Q₀, reduced hindrance factors for transitions from the isomer. Comparison with multi-qp calculations using Woods-Saxon potential and Lipkin-Nogami pairing. Systematics of moment of inertia plots and 8- isomers for ²⁴⁴Pu, ²⁵⁰Fm and ²⁵²No.
