Rotation-aligned isomer and oblate collectivity in 196Pt

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 197Au(209Bi, X)196Pt, E=1450 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, γγ(θ)(DCO), level and isomer half-lives by γγ(t) using Gammasphere array at ATLS-ANL. 196Pt; deduced high-spin levels, J, π, bands, multipolarity, B(E2), alignment plots, rotation-aligned isomeric state, configurations, shape evolution; calculated total energy surface plots. Comparison with cranked shell-model calculations. Systematics of level structures in 192,194,196,198Pt, and those of alignments in N=118 isotones 194Os, 196Pt and 198Hg.
