Polarized photon scattering off 52Cr Determining the parity of J=1 states
NUCLEAR REACTIONS 52Cr(polarized γ, γ'), E=5.21, 5.56, 6.40, 6.50, 7.00, 7.08, 7.19, 7.40, 7.51, 7.74, 7.89, 8.02, 8.11, 8.20, 8.75, 8.95, 9.15, 9.25, 9.36, 9.45 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, linear polarization using High Intensity γ-Ray Source (HIγS) facility of TUNL. 52Cr; deduced levels, J, π, B(M1), B(E1), E1 and M1 strength functions, spin-flip M1 resonance structure around 9.1 MeV, fragmentation pattern of the dipole strength below and around the neutron emission threshold, new mode of excitation related to pygmy dipole resonance (PDR). Comparison with calculations using three-phonon quasiparticle phonon model (QPM) with self-consistent energy-density functional theory.
