New lifetime measurements in ¹⁰⁹Pd and the onset of deformation at N=60

RADIOACTIVITY ¹⁰⁹Rh(β^-)[from U(p, F), E=30 MeV at IGISOL facility of University of Jyvaskyla]; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-, βγγ-coin, level half-lives by fast timing βγγ(t) technique. ¹⁰⁹Pd; deduced levels, J, π, configuration, B(M1), B(E2), B(E1); discussed strong pn interaction between πg_9/2 and νg_7/2 valence nucleons. Systematics of band structures, (d, p) and (d, t) spectroscopic strengths in ^{101,103,105,107,109,111}Pd. Systematics of 7/2+ and 5/2+ states in odd-A Pd, Rh and Ag isotopes.
