Multiple excitation modes in ¹⁶³Hf

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ⁹⁴Zr(⁷⁴Ge, 5n), E=330 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, multi-fold γγ-coin, γγ(θ)(DCO) using Gammasphere array at ATLAS-ANL facility. ¹⁶³Hf; deduced high-spin levels, J, π, multipolarity, bands, configurations, alignments, no evidence for triaxial strongly-deformed bands. Comparison with cranking model calculations using ULTIMATE CRANKER code. Systematics of proton crossing frequencies and aligned angular momenta in A=162-172 Hf isotopes, bandhead energies of 3/2[521] and 5/2[523] configurations in ¹⁵⁵Gd, ¹⁵⁷Dy, ¹⁵⁹Er, ¹⁶¹Yb, ¹⁶³Hf, and alignments in ¹⁵⁹Er and ¹⁶³Hf.
