Measurement of the shape factor for the β decay of ¹⁴O

RADIOACTIVITY ¹⁴O(β⁺)[from ¹⁴N(p, n), E=8 MeV]; measured Eγ, Iγ using BGO detector, Eβ, Iβ using a superconducting beta spectrometer at University of Wisconsin Nuclear Physics Laboratory; deduced statistical shape S(E) of the β⁺ spectrum for the 0+ to 1+ β transition as a function of the positron kinetic energy. Comparison with predictions from theoretical calculations. Relevance to test of conserved vector current (CVC) hypothesis.
