NUCLEAR REACTIONS Be(48Ca, X)37Al/39Al/40Si, E=345 MeV/nucleon; C(40Si, 38Mg), E=226 MeV/nucleon; C(39Al, 38Mg), E=219 MeV/nucleon; measured reaction products, Eγ, Iγ. 34,36,38Mg; deduced level energies, J, π, E(4+)/E(2+) ratios. Comparison with shell model calculations.
